Select the Coaching That's Right for You
Depending on your situation and needs, coaching can encompass one or more of the following areas:
- Career coaching helps you identify the types of jobs and organizations that are a good fit for your unique talents and abilities. Activities can include pinpointing your strengths, interests, and marketable skills; resume development; interviewing skills; and job search strategies like networking and informational interviewing. We will also clarify the environments that represent the best match for your personality and work style.
- Job readiness coaching focuses on practical skills for successful interviewing, such as non-verbal communication, dress and grooming, maintaining appropriate eye contact, communicating interest, mock interviews, etc.
- Job coaching is designed for both the newly hired and those who are currently employed. It can help you start a new job on the right foot by establishing good communication with your supervisor about expectations, accommodations, workplace rules, etc. If you’re already working, we can debrief actual work situations and create strategies to help you enhance your performance and ability to interact with others. We can also discuss the pros and cons of disclosure, requesting accommodations, and appropriate versus non-appropriate accommodations.
- Performance coaching is for individuals who are seeking promotions or are newly promoted, or those who are self-employed and looking to bring their business to the next level. It is designed to help you navigate office politics, work collaboratively on teams, network effectively, develop leadership skills and handle other kinds of management issues.
