Are there individuals in your organization who are smart, creative and expert within their field yet have trouble “fitting in?”

Perhaps they have a hard time getting along with supervisors and co-workers. They make blunt, inappropriate comments, or respond negatively to new ideas or suggestions. Organizing projects and meeting deadlines can be a challenge. At meetings they either contribute very little or dominate the conversation. Their quirky behaviors and lack of social skills may alienate colleagues.

Barbara Bissonnette is a certified coach who specializes in helping high-tech and life sciences professionals, engineers, academics and others who have social and communication challenges to become more productive, effective and team-oriented workers.

Barbara provides individual job coaching for employees in your organization, as well as consultations and training for managers and human resources personnel.

Coaching for Individuals

Regardless of whether or not an individual has been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome or Nonverbal Learning Disorder (NLD), coaching can improve communication and social skills, time management and organizational abilities.

Coaching aligns individual and organizational goals and includes:

  • Goal setting to establish desired outcomes, time frames, milestones and how success will be measured.
  • Assessment to understand the current situation.
  • Coaching to provide specific action steps for learning new skills, building competencies, changing behaviors, and achieving results.

Coaching sessions can take place at the individual’s place of business or at the Forward Motion Coaching offices in Lexington and Stow, MA.

Training and Consultations

The diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome, NLD and similar disorders has skyrocketed in recent years. Asperger’s alone is estimated to affect 1 in every 250 people* in the United States.

Consultation and training programs enable managers and human resources personnel to understand the characteristics of Asperger’s Syndrome and NLD and provide effective accommodations to maximize an individual’s contribution and retain employees at risk of derailing.
